Coding: Scratch Game Designers
Program Description
In this course, children learn to make their own games and animations using Scratch, a block-based programming language.
Day 1: Intro to block-coding & Scratch
- Familiarise with Scratch interface and created a Keyboard Piano & Mouse control Chase game
Day 2: Spot the Virus Tap Game
- Introduction to basic movements, sound and events and condition keys through a Spot a Virus Click Game
Day 3: Space Chase Game
- Introduction to X-Y coordinates, variables and directions through a Points Collection Game
Day 4: Maze Game
- Introduction to colour sensors and complex conditions through a Maze Game
Day 5: Pong Game
- Introduction to dual players and scoring system through a Pong Game
Important
- Children need to be equipped with basic IT skills to operate a laptop/computer
Students will be required to bring the following items:
- Laptop
- Charger
- Mouse for Laptops
Necessary Software: Students will be required to have access to the website: Scratch 3.0 platform. The platform can be accessed on any browser such as: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Safari
