Science of Music

Program Description

Introducing one of our thematic STEAM workshops that combines learning and fun together! Children will learn about different science concepts and reinforce their knowledge with fun and interactive STEAM activities. This workshop is designed to engage children in a fun and educational exploration behind the science of music through various STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) activities. 


Children will explore the basic physics of sound, musical instruments and even how peple respond when they hear music! They will complete and bring home the following projects during the 3 hour workshop: 

- A DIY Musical Box 

- Design and Build a Kalimba 

- Explore how a Fruit Piano works

During this 3 hours workshop, children will learn about different science concepts and complete projects. 


Topics covered: 

A. What are sounds and how they travel B. Instruments can make different sounds and music!    

C. Understand how a Kalimba work and simple notes
